Wednesday, Wondering About..

I can remember staring up at the first Farrah Fawcett posters that were to grace our local mall- they were plastered all over! I happened to walk through with my boyfriend back when I was just a tender seventeen! Well I had quite a few personal issues back then.. really just complexes..most like any other teenager? But I've always thought there was just something about growing up in S. California though- with all the pressure on performance. One thing which crossed my mind was, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea if men had to wear horse blinders? Just a thought (heh heh) I'm so over it!

Well, I'd been thinking a lot (that happens when your feeling under the weather and can't keep as busy as you'd like)..uh, about why (fast forward)- she decided to do a reality show about her last days with terminal cancer? Did you know that? Any thoughts? I never saw it..have I been cheated out of something?

(you might like to enlarge)
In case you were wondering (that is my cat behind the mirror)
I'm guiding you through this..the best of my random musings and captures since my last post!
Just look at this lovely blue egg..I was eager to know what delightful bird laid it?
Now look at the messy nest above..I found out it was a Myna's egg! I have three I've posted about (who I refer to as my little crows)..this must of blown out of the tree this past week? They're famous for dragging in everything to make a home with.

I saved the best for last..
This was a party the Portobello's had thrown last weekend..
&
The fungus had way too much to drink!

Hey, you mind dimming the light just a little!
Don't come back..see if I care!

Captured When Still

We behold life
In motion
Blissfully rolling
Captured when still..
Fragments we perceive at best

These images-
Concepts absorbed,
Ingested with every encounter
Consumed in determination
Burn inside
Without brush or pen

A limitless endeavor-
Our labor to
 Transform
&
Convey
 We behold life
In motion
Blissfully rolling
.
.

His mystery,
Deep,
Ever wide
&
Bottomless..
Unfolds, when still~

Note, this is the flower I posted previously but didn't have the name for- it's a

Ps. 143: 8 "Cause me to hear thy loving-kindness in the morning, for in thee do I confide; make me to know the way wherein I should walk, for unto thee do I lift up my soul"
Eph. 3: 8,9 "To me, less than the least of all saints, has this grace been given, to announce among the nations the glad tidings of the unsearchable riches of the Christ .. what is the administration of the mystery hidden throughout the ages in God, who has created all things,"

Summer's Here

It seemed
We'd all looked forward
To Spring
Yet Summer's here..

No creatures keeping count

But they know
Just where to go
Fall
Is only a trail ahead..
&
Winter's
Soon to call ~

Hope Widens

Thoughts deep as wells
Can haunt you
Leave there print
On furrowed brow

Shadows ripple
Under lonesome skies
Silver lining
Casts an iridescent glow

As I walk along
Hope widens
Across these playful shores

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Lilac & Chrome

(Sorry, I was only referring to the color when I wrote this ..it isn't really lilac it is a (Blue Plumbago)

It's easy..
As lilac
&
Chrome

If we'd just make
Our house
A home

May not ever
Need to roam

Lilac tumbles
Into Chrome~

(brushed nickel with a bit of focal)

(Feel free to skip my musings here)
Have you ever run away from something..maybe brought on as a consequence of your own doing- in addition to what ever came your way..(probably related)? Mine hasn't been in the area of relationships, but I've been tempted (lol)..not really cause of someone else..maybe just the regular struggles?

I know when I had my second child, I felt even more resigned than with my first..making it easier to get into raising them actually? Anyway, I'd like to say along with Calvary, many of these habits or patterns just ceased. But it took something big to break through- with an apprehension of the cross, before I stopped weaseling or backing out of stuff- where God could finally do some work in me. Eventually, this became a habit..how about you?

An Indelible Print

I never told you about that dinner?

Elmer Cline had been looking for a name for a new loaf of bread he was about to launch back in 1921 (the year my mother was born). Inspiration for the name
Wonderbread had been hatched as he stared, in wonder, gazing up into the sky while visiting the Indianapolis Balloon race at the Indianapolis Speedway.

On Chewing:
A good rule of thumb is as follows "if you can tell what kind of food you are eating from the texture of the food in your mouth (not the taste), then you haven't chewed it enough. For example, if you are chewing broccoli and you run your tongue over the stalk and can tell that it is still a stalk or over the floret and you can still tell that it is still a floret, don't swallow. You need to keep on chewing until you can't tell the stalk from the floret.

I'm sure you've heard the expression, when something has left an indelible print?

Well I remember being casually invited to my friend's house for dinner one evening when I was a teenager..sort of a last minute thing (can so an so stay)? It was late, so we just filed in and assembled around the table to enjoy a little steak they cooked up. Only the steak happened to of been on the very very tough side! Making matters worse, (and my guess is), probably after polishing off a few drinks- they decided to serve the steaks tucked in between two pieces of Wonder bread! Imagine the look on every one's faces for a second..(I simply can't forget)- sitting there with our fingerprint's stuck inside that dough! I'm sure we all wished for harmony with the ill combined.. or honestly, just for that moment to come to an end!
But it's a Wonder, why no one ever said a word?

Under The Blue Marble

My youngest son and I took a trip to the Arboretum in town.. maybe around the end of the 90's
I picked up a few seedlings from this tree..planted two- one on each side of the property.
This one is much bigger, but I heard they bear fruit tasting similar to a fig and
fancy beads are made of the seeds (blue). Neither one have produced anything yet, but I have a Royal Poinciana that took 7yrs before it blossomed? (I'll save that for later) Maybe something to do with growing them from a seedling (or two males perhaps)..what do you think?

Well, the leaves do fall far from the tree don't they..
(you do see it)?

Ya..it's a lot of pictures..but what else am I suppose to do with them all? (lol)
Above, growing off the end..(be sure to enlarge)..

And as they say, "a rolling stone gathers no moss"
Most of these are of moss adhering to old wood and nails except for the one below

My Knees Don't Lie

An in-law of mine once insinuated that the women on one side of my family (Aunts) were kind of unfeminine..that even their knees were a little knobby too! Well, I can assure you that's never been the case with me ..my knees are round (fuller) you see, ha ha)

Well I got to thinking about a pair of white boots my parents bought me once (caved into more like). I wore them until they had dark scuff marks all over. They were the one's Nancy Sinatra made popular back in the 1960's!! That's right.."These Boots Are Made For Walking", Now mine happened to be short though..and of course I was very young (cough). But there just wasn't another pair to trade off with..besides, they were my favorite, so I really don't remember my other shoes!

Anyway, I've always been left with the distinct impression my dad didn't care for them..I'm not certain if he ever did?
I can remember a nice fire he started, early one winter evening- just like yesterday. As I stood there warming myself beside the fireplace, he must of noticed me standing on the worn sides of those boots..(you know, where the ankles were suppose to be)? Now please..picture if you will, all those scuff marks! Anyway, he demanded I take them off then and there- then promptly tossed them in the trash! My guess is he would of enjoyed burning them?

It wasn't until I was around 15yrs old that he actually accompanied me to the mall again- for another pair of boots that is (generally it was my mom who did this kind of thing)? Well it didn't take long before I zeroed in on a deep, rich brown leather pair that zipped up to the knees..only to my shock and dismay, I couldn't get the zipper passed my knee caps! My knees are round you see. Suffice it to say, we left the mall in silence...

Uhu

Hi..

I realize this may seem inappropriate at this time..
But, if you could do it all over again..what would you do different?

Hmm?

Common name: Parrot Fish
Hawaiian Name: Uhu

(Click here for the Legend & Sound)

Seven parrotfish species live in Hawaii. Of these, three are endemic. The redlip parrotfish is the most sought after for food. Its snout is uniquely square and humped in shape. Terminal males, or those in the final mating color phase, are identifiable by their greenish-blue beaks

The beautiful parrotfish or uhu has a parrot-like beak. Males of this family of fishes come in bright parrot-like colors. A prime herbivore that helps to keep algae in check and trims away dead coral, the parrotfish plays a stellar role in maintaining the balance of life on ocean reefs. Some species ingest live coral, leaving characteristic bite marks or gouges on the coral, and often nibble on rock as well. All produce sand that provides habitat for crab and shrimp species and may wind up on a beach somewhere. Studies show that an 18-inch uhu can produce 700 pounds of sand per year-

I fixed these two for dinner the other night. Can you tell I softened up the photo of the red female? That's because her teeth weren't as clean as the male!
Let's be perfectly clear- the war on free speech is spiritual!
