Batman Never Rode A Camel

Now you maybe younger
&
You maybe older
But this was a show
On the tube back yunder-
So, can you recall what you were doing back when..
Some of the first Batman episodes came out?
I can remember sitting close to the set..only being able to listen, as our television had been given to us and the picture tube was burned-out..
Ya, picture tubes!

Oh, need I mention it was just black and white,
though color was soon to follow!
I could of embedded an early show- but found this commercial airing around the same time- a real hoot!
I'd love to hear what you think?
(you can just mute my jungle sounds on the right column)

I am young enough to remember B&W tv's and my uncle smoking Camel cigarettes. But, the Batman show must not have been one of my favorites. And it is really weired now a days to even see a doctor smoking.

so this commerical means they were just as big a liers back then as they are now...so nothing has really changed at all, except no more tubes in the TV. the car the doctor gets in, is like our ponitac we drove to KY in at age 10...

That commercial is HORRIFIC. I had forgotten just how advertising used to be for smoking - crikey!

Your header shot is stunning, absolutely gorgeous!

I did not watch any batman. My memory stays with the Three Stooges.

I never smoke, thus cannot differentiate Camels from Cows or whatsoever. And maybe the doctor was not a doctor since a doctor is supposed not to appear in any commercial.

This is a scream!!! I never saw the ad, though. Well, that was before the warning labels on the packs. Maybe way beack then no one knew that it was bad for you. But yikes, it's kind of giving a doctor's endorsement to smoke cigarettes!!! I used to watch Batman! The Riddler, The Joker, Batwoman, I remember those characters, and can almost remember the names of the actors. Hey, Julie Newmar was Batwoman! I cannot find your player anywhere, but managed to listen over the music.

Hmmm, I think that was Catwoman, NOT Batwoman!!!!

So what if I said Batwoman instead of Catwoman?? How many other people would know her real name? I rock!

Hey Regina,
That commercial is funny but also alarming because of what we know now. What cigarette do you smoke doctor? That is crazy talk. Lol.

Let's be perfectly clear- the war on free speech is spiritual!
