Shifting Shadows

Wind carries
A song of broken silence
Light beams weave
Through forested sky
Shadows decend
With countless leaves
Rests among the fallen logs

Series taken while up in Volcano, mostly in Sepia & Mono-

James 1:17- "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows"

Hi there Joyful..thanks..and to you as well! Hello Ginny, it isn't exactly in there, but there is a village and park. That's where the main vent is located though. Thanks!

Your blog is such a joy to visit. From the brilliant big header photo to the spiritual references I look forward to every one. The James 1:17 is a little different in my King James version, but the phrase "Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows" is wonderful. And you have tied it in so well with your nice monochromatic photos of the leafy shadows.

Is the poetry at the beginning yours? I like, "a song of broken silence" especially.

I've been to Volcano Nat Park. I was amazed at how cold it was in a place considered so tropical.

It's amazing how you weave photos, scripture, and poetry so beautifully together. This is a beautiful post and certainly one of my favorites. Lovely!

I haven't been up there in awhile but they were really getting smoked out! So you were able to visit huh? Wonder what season? Anyway, have a great evening-

today was the first time I ever got the moon to come out clear. i had to use the long zoom lens, and zoom in as close as i could to get the camera to sense the light and focus. that is how i got todays. they are clear but just a round spot in black. i want to do better and will keep trying. i thought that might help
