Hilina Pali & The Myrtle

We decided to head to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park along the Chain of Craters Road last weekend.  I hadn't visited this area of the island for some time. It's a little over 8 miles, along the East Rift Zone- elevation is 4,000 ft. to sea level.
Hilina Pali comprises the network of faults which downdrop the flank of Kilauea seaward. Offshore, the submarine Hilina Slump accommodates movement of Kilauea's south flank as it moves seaward at rates of about 10 cm/year (4 inches/year) under magmatic pressure and gravitational forces. Literally, "struck (as by wind)."

The terrain is peppered with Ohia trees (as is the forest surrounding our home) which happens to be in the Myrtle family ..also in the same family as the guava, rose apple and passion fruit- incidentally was the reason bio control, (intended to destroy the strawberry guava) was prevented-

Interestingly how history repeats itself "An Iranian minister admits his country is under cyber attack as new clues suggest reference to biblical Queen Esther in malware coding"

There's only one person named Hadassah in the Bible. It's the Hebrew name of Esther (incredible read). This name occurs only once, in Esther 2:7: "...and he [Mordecai] was bringing up Haddasah, that is Esther, his uncle's daughter..."
Furthermore, "Two file directory names, “myrtus” and “guava,” could be an allusion to the biblical Queen Esther, who intervened to save the Jewish people from destruction at the hands of a Persian king. Persia is now known as Iran." (more here)
Scholars agree that the name Hadassah is a feminized form of the word Hadas (Hebrew: הדס, pl. hadassim - הדסים) is a bough of the myrtle tree – Hadassim prefer the colder mountainous regions - Symbol of Immortality and Success. The Hadas reminds the forest thickets that the Israelites found covering the hill country when they entered the land in the days of Joshua.
The Hadas, myrtle is characterized by its leafy branches that also cover the trunk of the tree. Its branches remain upright and fresh long after cutting.

The Myrtle withstands drought, even after fire; pushes out new leaves. To the renaissance, since it was forever green, it symbolized everlasting love ~

Yes Canada has always been supportive of Israel like at the g8 summit and Baird's recent remarks at the UN General Assembly a week ago. My article though was dealing with issues related to state control of the internet and a recent meeting in Nairobi, Kenya on this issue ;-)

Thanks to all..
Penny I was responding to the Harper comment as he gets hammered quite a bit.
The Obama administration officially published the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) so-called net neutrality rules in the Federal Register..so going by this excerpt (link below)
Besides "undoing a decade of free-market..would set us down a path to reducing the Internet into a government-regulated, government-controlled public utility."
I think because the position Obama's taken as far as our enemies go- we have to watch out-

Thanks to all of you for the read! Penny, My comment was in regard to a previous poster as Harper gets hammered quite a bit?
Anyway, On Sept 23rd, "the Obama administration officially published the FCC so-called net neutrality rules in the Federal Register" I feel because of his and the UN's blatent position in regard to the enemy- this whole issue..as far as the rules go (link below) "they would undo a decade of free-market.. set us down a path to reducing the Internet into a government-regulated, government-controlled public utility" They are doing both so I feel we have to keep watch. Thanks- http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/09/23/senate-must-stop-obama-internet-takeover

Duh, sorry Regina. I figured out later that you were replying to the earlier post, lol. Forgive me for being so slow. I'm going to check out that link you posted. You're on top of these things more so than I am. Hope you had an excellent weekend. BTW, am feeling much better today heel and knee wise though I know it will be awhile yet before I am completely good to go. I at least have some glimmers of hope now and then. The doctor is also helping with some other things...that's how it works in TCM, when they balance things out, other things start to get better too. I'm not sure if you are one who suffers from inflammation and pain like many I've met on line (and me too). I just came across Curamin. It works. Thanks for prayer.

HI Regina, I love your header photo. It is beautiful. The trees are amazing. I have been to this park and enjoyed riding thru and walking thru the lava tubes. We were there once a week before the visitor center was destroyed from the lava. I liked seeing where the lava meets the ocean.

when you published this post, i came and read and looked and tried to comment and got the funky thing. forgot to come back. the header is amazing and I love the way the trees grow out of the lava, the rumpled look of the landscape is amazing. when i saw today's post, it thought of the fact i did not come back and write on this one. truly amazing to me.

Let's be perfectly clear- the war on free speech is spiritual!
