To Reckon Or To Reason

1-1-11
(And one of my first posts back in December of 2008)
For the New Year~

Tilting my head back against my pillow
On this moon lit night
I watched an ever so gentle breeze
Lift my lacy curtain..
Ingenuity crafted delicately-
Rose, to meet this lovely mystery
That graced my face

Haughtily,
We proclaim to know more about love
While we focus on creation
Yet ironically wrestle over a designer?
Lost
Contemplating the centuries
A veiled mystery eludes our grasp
As the waters recede along the shore

1 Cor 1:21
"For since the wisdom of God, the world
Through it's wisdom did not know Him"

Could this be the nature of a designer?

Within His ocean of love
We flourish
But for a season
Under His watchful gaze
Christ entered time
Offering us the breath of life
That would speak
Into our existence

Better to reckon than to reason-
Yielded to a hope
Which doesn't disappoint
That the son
Would shine in our faces
Revealing His infinite wisdom

Lost in the current
Of His love
As it washes over us
In unhindered purpose

Love your header, and so many other things to love about this!! To reckon rather than to reason, that is fabulous!! After all, it is the heart and the faith that matter, not the mind!! And the way you say that he entered time (because God is outside of time), the son shining on our faaces, revealing...what a wonderful post to start the New Year!!!!

I think humans are so preoccupied with HAVE instead of BEING who forget to admire the most beautiful that exists in life: nature in its immensity!

Thank you for your first post in the new year that has just arrived!

I wish much health, peace and love to you and yours! 2011 is that of joy and accomplishments.
A warm hug with love.

I agree with you that it's usually better to reckon than to reason, as well ask how important it is to let the Son shine upon us.

This is the trap, that we always fall into.

And Year 11 seemed to be two very straight roads run parallel, leading to the trap, or away, or either one of them.

This is our choice.

Leenie..hey thanks for your visit! (not exactly sure I understood the last part of what you meant) but ya, my thought (inspiration from the characters aging around me), was that we are often shown the answer but simply try to reason out of it at times? Anyway..I enjoy your imput-
Hello Rainfields..it seems to be that way (I get sick of it) ha ha

Beautiful poem... there are many things that are veiled from our eyes which only the Creator knows. I love your photo of the moon disappearing beyond dark clouds. Beautiful words and a Happy New Year to you!
