She Counts The Lashes

Dark eyes
Bleed
In delicate lines
She Counts the Lashes
That swell
Upon her back
&
Branch
Across her spine
Like some faraway map
In present time

They come to rest
With scars she'll carry
Hidden
Beneath a sack
Too cumbersome
For everyday tasks

(Just one of many)

What a deep and emotional poem here. This certainly evokes crucifixion for me as well. I am quite touched and moved by this piece. Beautifully written.

Such a pretty header; the back of this sunflower is as attractive as the front, or is this the front and the other side the ...now I am confused!
Seriously it is very attractive and makes you LOOK!
The poem so sad and so very deep like a big hole one is never able to crawl out of it.

Oh thanks Titania! No your right..its the back. I guess this was a bit dark wasn't it! This kind of thing gets me down. Well I'm so glad you came by for the read- hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi Regina,

A beautiful poem! Saw your comment on Margaret of Molokai today. I was wondering if you have written anything about Molokai?
