It's getting so cold here, I actually had to put socks on this morning! ha
For Skywatch Friday-
Beautiful Poinsettia..(native to Mexico), it's found in the tropics (like in my yard).. moderate elevations -
Your darn right that's Holly! This shot- with a touch of focal as well.. captured below, growing up in higher elevation-
This one is of our neighbor Gorden's fancy Coconut trees all lit up...
Anyone guess what I'm doing?
Well it just so happens we had a shortage of trees this year due to slugs! So, many were shipped back ..if you didn't pick one up early like me, you'd be out of luck. Anyway, I decided to get a little creative?
Cheers to you & all our skies-

i love the red! the palm tree with the Christmas lights made me smile - seemed so different :0) Okay, i don't understand what you are doing???? digging up an old tree to replace with a new tree.....is it just me who has no clue????
I love the way the poinsettia looks against the beautiful sky. That's funny about you digging up your tree. Creative way to deal with the shortage.
I love the place with the coconut trees growing beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful sky shots. Nice to see how the tropics decorate.
I don't think I've ever seen a palm tree lit up like a Christmas tree...nice.Had to chuckle when you say its cold enough for socks...as it's -20 C here right now, and socks are definitely in order along with hat, coat, gloves, boots...all the joys of winter! Cheers
How fun to see a palm tree decorated for Christmas. I'm sure your creative tree will be beautiful!
Love your header. The colourful light bulbs make the coconut tree look very attractive. So you're planting coconut in lieu to trees? Good idea! Gives you fruit, cream and many more.
Ha..I'm (attempting)put two coconut trees together for one Christmas tree!(more leaves right)? ha..not impressed? ha ha, Thanks-
Lovely shots. I love the first photo and the fancy coconut tree. Moderate eleveation worked well in your first photo. Beautiful!
Btw, thanks for adding my blog on your blog list. Thank you so much.
Nice shot!:-) I really want summer, hehe
that was lovely!
I love the swaying palm with little bits of colourful lights.
just so unusally and MAGNIFICIENT your poinsettia with sky.....!
...your neighbour did some athletic adventure putting those colourfull lights on the coconuttree...??? BELLISSIMO!!
...your poinsettia makes me dreaming.........!!
have a wonderful weekend
ciao elvira
Fun views of the sky from your place, thanks for sharing and thanks for your kind comments on my post earlier.
I love all your sky shots, it is different to see a coconut tree lit up for Christmas instead of the usuall pine trees we use. You are lucky to have the poinseetia growing in your yard they look beautiful.
A Christmas coconut - I love it!
Funny how I never think of poinsettia as something growing naturally in the ground, even here in Israel it's always in a pot.
KP: Beautiful skies and the palm looks wonderful in your header.
The decorated palm tree is definitely a winner. :D Ok, I'm impressed: holly growing in the tropics.
ADORED ALL BUT LOVED THE FIRST ONE...SIMPLY maRVELOUS AND ROMANTIC...

I love your poinsettia photos, they are lovely and the coconut tree with christmas lights is sooo fun! I think it's great that you are able to be creative and find a christmas tree to dig up in your own yard. I'd like to see it when it is all decorated...will you be posting a pic?
Cold enough for socks? I'm sitting here in thick fluffy socks with a heater pointed at my feet. hahaha I think I would love living in the warm tropics! :)
Beautiful pictures of poinsettia, and sky!
Thanks for visiting me..
Sky seems to wrap up red.
Sky may be fusion of all colors.
Thank you for showing wonderful colors.
From the Far East.
Wow, I love all these photos. I must say the palm trees and christmas lights are very fun. I love the poinsetta's as well. Tropical christmas sounds nice : )
What a beautiful shot of the poinsettia with the blue sky in the background! And regarding your socks... well, I'm just not feeling too sad for you. LOL
Beautiful and Amazing shots !! Fantastic post !! Thanks for sharing..
'Winter in the tropics'! That's my kind of winter! :-) Not that I can complain comparing to what's going on in the rest of Europe... we are still having some sunshine and temperatures above 0ºC!... but it's winter anyway! Bahhhh... I hate it! Lol!
The first Poinsettia shot is gorgeous!
Great captures! love all!
