When Kealani Waltzed

Well, I love all the animals
Especially my own,
Still I've never seen whales
Off Wayne's back porch
But I peeked round the corner
From my living room
I saw the angels
Stand back
While Kealani waltzed

Life hasn't stopped
On this merry-go-round
Folks seldom hold on
When the going gets rough
Reaching out for some warmth,
Just a smile that lasts
Only they'll dart
If you spook um,
Then swim off in a pack

It's neither children nor dogs
That get so uptight,
As the conditional lovers
Who fly by at night

For the birds they'll sing
Before you arise,
It's the dogs that wait
And the cats who turn up
Yet children will hold you,
Like there's no tomorrow
Take a walk on a road-
They think has no end

Now, I love all the animals
Especially my own...
Still I've never seen whales
Off Wayne's back porch
But I peeked round the corner
From my living room
I saw the angels
Stand back
While Kealani waltzed-

Hi Regina M. Lovely words again. I hope you keep all your poetry pristinely preserved. What a beautiful poetry book it would make. Outside all gold and tropical splendour and inside your words.
The little girl with the Gardenia looks gorgeous. Just like the world should be, smelling the flowers.
And yes I have seen the Whales, up in Hervey Bay. It was a fantastic experience. Enjoy your weekend. I have my family over for lunch so I will be busy cooking!

This poem is packed with so much truth! Children and animals seem to be able to hold onto trust more than adults - which makes them more vulnerable to preditors. I like this thought:

"Only they'll dart
If you spook um,
Then swim off in a pack"

I must ask - "who is the precious little girl?"

Sunny, she is ten right? I forget somtimes. That's your baby! Such a memorable time too. I'd love to see her in the Music Man! I was wondering why she'd be scared- She's such a ham but maybe a bit shy too huh?

Yes, 10...*sigh* I guess you can be a ham and have stage fright sometimes??

Let's be perfectly clear- the war on free speech is spiritual!
