It's Not About Skin..It's In The Blood

For O.S.I. Prompt- Word
Blood

In heavy labor
I'd conceived
In that season
My Spirit
Jumped the tracks
Tender eyes
While they were raised
Watched
A new formation
Yet mine,
Were often glazed

We, like seedlings
Scattered,
Growing in the garden
Flowers budding
Lean towards the sun

It goes beyond blackness
It goes beyond whiteness
For it's either Able
Or the Spirit of Cane
Cause your just not
Paying,
Race no honor-

Our lungs, energized
With the power of this world
Youth
Like seedlings scattered
Gazes back, it's the same
In stature, as one another
Lacking foresight
And often wisdom
To set things right

Our Spirit
Pumps the blood
Runs through our veins
Red is the color
From whence
We devour our brother

It goes beyond blackness
It goes beyond whiteness
For it's either Able
Or the Spirit of Cane
Cause your just not
Paying,
Race no honor-

The Son of Man
It's been proclaimed
Upon the earth
Where He'd been slain
Covered under darkness
Raised
The chief Cornerstone
And if we were but,
To look upon-
Our mortal souls
He would transform-

Powerful words..."And if we were but,
To look upon-, Our mortal souls, He would transform-" I love this piece. It speaks of so much about humanity and emotions and spirituality.

I enjoyed the motion of this poem, like sailing over the ocean. Oh to be transformed by one gaze, it seems to take a life time.
