(Macros below)
Feeling just a little slow
My comprehension seems to drag
Effortlessly
My eyes
They drifted up
To a small flower calendar
Above my monitor
A pleasant patch of Zinnia's
With necks of green
In all the splendor
Their heads displayed
Every shape or matching hue
An they were turned
As if conversing
In a field or garden..
Not even Summer-
I imagined myself
With the sky of blue
Among this cheery crowd
My hair aflame
In yellow and orange
All of them my friends
We'd get along
God would be King-this we'd sing
Life so simple
No concept too hard
Tis but the unity of God's Holy Spirit-
Jn. 12:32 "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me"
No, these aren't Zinnia's..you have to imagine those (lol)

The song playing (is actually rain forest sounds now)- but you can still play it by clicking on the second track over on the right column (scroll down) - to imagine my mood..(The Book Of Tools) Anyway, is nearly a classic reggae to me (the Heptones)..I heard it .. like something it was- out of the past. (don't worry, I realize our musical taste and influence may vary, so you can just stick to the background info and poetry if you like.
So I looked it up and found the song was inspired from an 18th century poem you'll find below some of these quotes-Inspirational Heritage and Legacy
"One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh:
but the earth abideth forever.
The sun also riseth, and the sun goeth down,
and hasteth to his place where he arose."
From Ecc 1: 4&5
"I saw behind me those who had gone, and before me those who are to come. I looked back and saw my father, and his father, and all our fathers, and in front to see my son, and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond.
And their eyes were my eyes".
Richard Llewellyn
(A Book Of Tools )
A Stumbling block or a stepping stone-
"Isn't it strange that Princes and Kings
And clowns who caper in stardust rings,
And common people like you and me
Are builders for eternity?
Each is given a set of tools,
A shapeless mass, and a book of rules,
And each must make, ere life has flown,
A stumbling block or a stepping stone..."(Author Unknown.. (Maybe (R. Lee Sharpe)
Life is lived forwards, but understood backwards.
"Your Name...
You got it from your father, it was all he had to give,
So it's yours to keep and cherish for as long as you shall live,
It was clean the day he got it, and a worthy name to bear,
When he got it from his father, there was no dishonor there,
So protect and guard it safely, for when all is said and done,
You'll be proud the name is spotless when you give it to your son".
May all your family trees branch toward the stars!

Another lovely poem and post. The photos are wonderful. Have a safe and happy 4th of JULY!
And common people like you and me
Are builders for eternity?
And each ephemeron is an element of eternity.
Where do I even start? For just plain lyrical beauty, this is my favorite post of yours. So much to fill the mind, so many images, I feel literally drunk with words, images, and ideas!! First, the beautiful header! And the imagery of being one of the flowers, all in accord and turned toward God! Were the flower photos one flower taken at different times or different flowers all at once? A stumbling block or a stepping stone I'm printing out to record on our church prayer and info line. I adore it!!! At times you draw together many things that seem so different, but bring them together on common ground. I hope you have a wonderful Fourth weekend!!
Gorgeous bloom! and amazing poem.
Great post my friend.
Happy 4th of July weekend.
xo

Lovely poem Regina! I have to read it so many times to understand... hahahaha I am just bad at poem since school time. You know my teacher always mad at me when I don't understand the metaphor use and my imagination has it limitation.
I wish I was like any other kid who are just to clever to read and understand :)
I don't put anything on top my monitor :) hehehehehe but I'm sure the Zinnia does look very beautiful.
