Cushion of the Sea

(Brother-in-law caught this crab- you can see is pretty fresh)

"And the peace of God, which transcends all our powers of thought, will be a garrison to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:7)

There is what is called the "cushion of the sea-
" Down beneath the surface that is agitated by storms, and driven about with winds, there is a part of the sea that is never stirred. When we dredge the bottom and bring up the remains of animal and vegetable life we find that they give evidence of not having been disturbed in the least, for hundreds and thousands of years. The peace of God is that eternal calm which, like the cushion of the sea, lies far too deep down to be reached by any external trouble and disturbance; and he who enters into the presence of God, becomes partaker of that undisturbed and undisturbable calm-

Cowman devotionals (Streams in the Desert)

(R. Wurmbrand, imprisoned in Romania for 14 years)
“In our darkest hours of torture, the Son of Man came to us, making the prison walls shine like diamonds and filling the cells with light. Somewhere, far away, were the torturers below us in the sphere of the body. But the spirit rejoiced in the Lord.
We would not have given up this joy for that of kingly palaces.”
  (Tortured For Christ)

Armando Valladares (imprisoned for 22 years in Cuba)
When asked where he and the other political prisoners got the strength to stand up to all the torture, He replied-
"We have an inexhaustible supply, sir, an imperishable source.
That's what constantly feeds us. It's love." (Against All Hope)

Dear Regina, It's true, all of it...our peace is the Prince of Peace -Jesus.

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Well, first, you should not have given your bird the job of watching the pot! Ha ha!! Birds are very bad sous chefs, you know. I knew about the bottom of the sea, but didn't know the name, "Cushion Of The Sea" That is wonderful and you have just tied everything together so very beautifully, the inner peace of God with the Cushion Of The Sea. A superb post today, Gina!!! Hope you have a GREAT Easter!!!

Good to be reminded of that unending source of strength. Outstanding quotes and valuable knowledge.

Laughed and felt sorry at the same time for the very fresh crab.

What a wonderful post! We love shellfish. The last time I had lobster was in Mau'i - 2001! It was SO good. It's my favorite but right now, unaffordable. I've never been able to choose my dinner - I have the wait staff do it for me!
Thanks for the reminder that Easter is not about jelly beans. Have a very blessed Resurrection Sunday!

Hey there!

I don't eat crabs but that looks very tasty. I'm not religious but I like reading scriptures from the bible.

Happy easter.
