Faith And Resistance

Keep smiling
(My clowns to the left with a friend)

When (yes when) I pop in one of my exercise DVD's, this is what the instructor hopes we'll keep in mind-
"Exhale on the exertion"
"It's probably where you'll lose your form, but we're going to correct that"
"Just think how your going to look!"
"However, if your not feeling the burn..."
"These are phenomenal compound exercises"

Heb.4:2, 3- "For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not ~Combine it with faith~.

Now we who have believed ~Enter that rest~
And yet ~his work has been finished~ since the creation of the world." vs 14
When John the baptist saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducee's (religious leaders) coming to where he was baptizing..he told them in Mt. 3: 7-10 “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
~Produce fruit in keeping with repentance~ do not think you can say to yourselves, ~‘We have~ Abraham as our father.’

Do you think faith is often misunderstood? Have you ever noticed how easy it is to rely on one's strengths? (what we have- in the natural). Oh, and incidentally, there is one more suggestion in that DVD.. and that is to make sure an go slow -so as not  to use gravity? (They even sell resistance bands)
Sure, we use our gifts or talents all the time, but still I'm reminded of the following verses here in 1 Co 2:5 & 2 Co 12:9) - just trying to narrow this down?

I'll wrap it up here with  1 Pt. 2: 4-8, “See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.” you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house. Remember, it's also called a rock of offense that many often trip over (not in good way)-
Keep smiiiling

cause my  your thoughts are important to me- thanks)

Gee, I can not even think about exercise DVD's. By the time I come home from work, I am so tired. The resistance bands make sense to me though. Keep up the good work. Great post and neat shot of your sons.

If Cerok Tokun is the background picture, then I should be the forth clown in the picture, though look very skinny.

I do know about breathing when exercising and also when things get tough it helps to step back and slow down and just breathe. as in when a temper tantrum threatens to erupt (yes i do have a temper)to stop and breathe, count to 10 so to speak. breathing is good. love the photo of your clowns

Oh yes, I fall into the trap of relying on myself far too often. He is still teaching me that I must rely on Him. When will I get it? I ask myself sometimes. I remember when I was young I used to wonder why did the Israelites get into all sorts of trouble after God showed them His power and provision again and again. Yet today I find I am not different than the Israelites of old. We must always take stock and try to keep on the narrow path. Good food for thought today KP. BTW, I like the cute photo of your clowns ;-)

I'm beside myself Penny- you answered my question! I find it easy too- the fact that there seems to be a great deal of emphasis in regard to the scriptures (I didn't want to make make the warning as such that it would detract) obviously its a strong enough admonition; but because as you mentioned- they would often lose sight of this! It seems that this whole thing is to get us to fix our eyes on Him so we won't miss what He's doing..(not our plans). Oh, and if they missed His coming then, are we any different now..as you've stated- Thanks-
