Performance And His Presence

Hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend..

Hardest thing is letting go..
Performance
*

If your entering in
Its where we like to say
"faith is the door"
But He calls it Rest in Heb 3 -
Which simply means in what He already accomplished?

Maybe a crude analogy for some, but at the moment of wrestling with the age old mental trap I call performance..I looked over at my dog- she stared back at me like she always does..but funny how there wasn't any words for that moment..was in an instant- only of adoration-
I simply loved her for who she is.
God can look at me..and because of the blood
Its the same..
His presence-
As opposed to Performance

So in that instant..I knew
there was nothing He needed from me, i.e.,
I didn't need to stand on my head
For we which have believed do enter into rest

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart,
O God, you will not despise~

You are so right, and I love your title! We are as good as our sacrifice, and he was and is perfect. So God looks at us through him. We need to believe his love does not depend on anyhting we do, or we are turning our backs on the sacrifice. Only you said it so much better!

this is perfect and i needed it. you are so right about the dog thing, no matter what they look at us with love, just like God. dogs dont care if we perform or not. did you know Dog Is God spelled backwards? photos of the leaves are wonderful

Hey and thanks for the read Lennie..
Ginny, ya, it's a hard one feeling inadequate on the one hand or just relying on one's strengths..but as you said- like turning our backs.
Sandra..or they don't care what you have on either..oh, and the best example cause your not apt to see your reflection in them
(ha ha)

nice - entering into His presence does not require performance - And, it is like seeing the world in black and white and then entering into the vibrant color of new life in Him! your photos spoke loud to me :0)

thanks for sharing your memories along side mine.
