Our Pig Named Pumpkin

Gathering around for a story..
(You should enlarge)
My husband between two young Rotties with our pig Pumpkin (names were change to protect the innocent). Now look close, do you can see our goat Simon on the picnic table? What you can't see very well in this photo- is our mostly black cat sitting next to him!! All of them sadly, are no longer with us.
We had two older dogs at this time and they would all jog down the road with me..except the goat.
If they found something rotten..they would all take turns rolling in it!
You should of seen piggy on her back- hoofs in the air! You might be amazed to know cats do that too!
She was ornery when in heat...and would chase our neighbor up a tree. Too smart for her own good..even charging people she didn't like and purposely make trouble.
One day, my husband and I were walking along a little trail in our yard (wearing shorts of course) with with our pig beside us. Husband remarked how well behaved she'd been of late! Just then we came upon a nice watery mud filled lava crack on a hill..she jumped in it (big enough for her to turn around in too)..then she rushed in-between his legs and shook her whole body (swish)!! I ran away laughing, looking back husband's muddy inner thighs!!

Out of the Bed & Into The Pot

What was that?

Hmm..
Well, what might a pig pass
While running through the grass?

Maybe a humble mushroom
Peering through a log..

Beads of water perhaps
Collecting on some Tea
 Oh no..
I may be wrapped in that
If they can't find some Taro
But I know
 Banana leaves will do!

This Caterpillar told me
He'd be a Butterfly very soon
But I'd wind-up with Rosemary
Running out of Thyme
Slow cooking
In an Imu
Or
Someones great big Crock
At the start-
Easy recipe for Pull Apart Pork-
On Thanksgiving, ours was almost 9lbs..this one is about 8
Rock salt
Onions
Liquid smoke
 Got great raves (here)
But I followed this
(Here)- only I didn't triple it
Oh, I threw some apples in too-

(This is after 9 hours)

I don't eat pork often..but if your going to do it, this is my suggestion~

The Factory or the Tile Guys?

For those of you who celebrated Thanksgiving.. I hope you had a Blessed day! I did some entertaining and I'm a little behind..(so I will be over to visit your bloggy soon as I can)- thanks!

I happen to strike up a conversation with two women in the natural food store while looking at Henna dyes. One  of them was an acquaintance (a tall German woman in her mid 50's) Anyway, I happened to catch the look on her face -preserved almost as well as some of my expressions.. as if I was holding a hostess Twinkie in my hand? I said "no, you don't wanna do that do you"!? She grinned..pushing back her dark blond dread locks which just about touched her hips.
 (Here)  they'll set the record straight for you about all the stereotypical information you've probably heard out there about not washing dread locks and stuff like "clean hair dreads faster than dirty hair".

Well, the other woman I'd just met- maybe about the same age.. attractive, single- yet struggling with various addictions, who was presently sobering up for rehab.. in addition to finding a place to stay! According to her, she wasn't abused enough to stay at the women's shelter? Well, that got me to thinking about the impact color has on ones mood. You may of heard of pink prisons for criminals..well I wondered about substance abuse- like how color can enhance or reduce the sensational effects of food? (this was really an excuse to throw the last part in)
Now about that tile-
When our house was being built, I chose some bathroom tiles with every other piece of (5x 7 diamond shape), being either beige, pearly lavender to deep mauve as well as some warm tones..almost orange- that highlighted our fancy lavender blue bathtub! (no jets..my husband is a mechanic..did most of the plumbing too, so he visualized having to rip the wall out to repair something?
Well, when the tile guys were finishing ..it was only then I'd noticed most of the pieces they assembled were on the orange to the dark mauve side (leave it to the men)? But to make matters worse, I made an irritating discovery too! Something about the colors looked off from what I originally picked out?! When I went back to talk to the sales rep -she said that the change had something to do with the factory over a period of time? Huh?? See, back when I was matching shades..(trying to choose what would go with an accent piece) was when I noticed the tiles surrounding her desk, and said that's it! Anyway..a factory thing? Well..best I could do was tone down the paint to make certain colors stand out more..like those soft lavender and pearly tones? Nobody else noticed any problem..but it still wasn't ..it isn't what I saw?

Purple Haze

The Queen of the Phaeacians spins purple threads, and the water-nymphs weave cloth "purple as the sea"

This Morning Glory looks like lavender to me..but at other times it appears purple
and sometimes blue..
Purple Musings~
Situated between red and blue on the color wheel, it has been the color of royalty..
Even Julius Caesar decided he alone should wear it!
But the true reason was that it was expensive to make until the first synthetic (aniline) dye- was invented and produced on a grand scale..

It was the most highly valued dye of the ancient world.
Purple was extracted from shellfish of the mollusk (Murex Trunculus and Purpura Haemastoma) which are found along the eastern Mediterranean shores near Tyre)..(whence the common name Tyrian Purple) I gather a smelly process back then. You can read some pretty interesting stuff here in- (Pigments from animals and plants)

In Acts 16, it mentions Lydia (a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira)

Jesus was robed in purple by Roman soldiers (Mk 15) .. was given to Daniel and Mordecai and worn by  Assyrian soldiers. The first people to use the dye were perhaps Phoenicians, whose name may come from a Greek word meaning bloodred..
Ships of Tyre had awnings of blue and purple (Ez. 27) and purple dye was an item of trade between Tyre and the people of Aram..(even used to describe the color of hair)

Black King Wood Bee winking~
Notice the shades..

I'll tell you about an experience I had with the tile in our bathroom next..
Anyway..does the color purple do anything for you?

Maybe Pebbles & Sand

(Reed's Bay)
My dog going for a swim..
Java Finch below gathering food
Road is often long
Like all the
Pebbles
&
Sand
Between
Ocean
&
Land
Yet He can lead us
Through the sea
Where no footsteps
Are found
You may of reached
An impasse
With a load too heavy
Like all the sand upon the shore..
Dreams might turn to black top
Prospects grow dim

But I heard a song
In the night
Tell me that the way
Is through the deep
*
Maybe
Pebbles
&
Sand
Between the Ocean
&
The land
*
But He'll lead us
Through the sea
Where no footsteps are found~

One Kind Of Splender

Za za, Are We Really Just Specimens?

(Verses below if you care to read)..

Stace Owens has no intention of leaving this world when he dies. He plans to stick around for decades or longer, preserved in plastic and displayed in a museum or medical school.
The 33-year-old real estate agent from Dallas is among more than 7,000 people (7,652 to be exact) who have agreed to donate their bodies for plastination. Von Hagens' donation program began in 1983 and so far 461 have already died. More than 22 million people in 35 cities have visited the exhibit since it debuted in Japan in 1995.

It's a process (you may of seen a post I did here) in which body fluids are replaced by liquid plastic. The plastic hardens, leaving tissues intact and allowing bodies to be displayed in their natural color and without formaldehyde.
The process was made popular by Gunther von Hagens’ “Body Worlds,” a controversial anatomy exhibit that puts real human specimens on show. Most are flayed and dissected, revealing their organs. Others are kept intact and displayed in dramatic action poses, such as a basketball player driving to the hoop or a runner in full stride.

“Therefore, they have to experience an aesthetic shock.
"Therefore, they have to open their hearts to themselves.
"Therefore, they have to fall in love with the specimen", and then it will keep in their minds" (lol)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Though the institute can’t guarantee how or where the body will be displayed?
Some become full-body specimens, a process that takes up to a year to complete at a cost of between $40,000 and $60,000..hmm??
Lipstick
My nails aren't dry yet!!
1 Co 15: 35-
"But someone may ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?..  What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed,..But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body..There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor".
Tangerine Sky
**
It's Another Day
Orange
&
Yellow
To soften the glare
Like a song,
Pollen drifts over furrowed brow
Melts the clouds
&
Abstract frowns
Clings along transparent wings
**
**
Orange
&
Yellow
Are here at play
It's another day..
Lipstick smudged petals
Gather
Like umbrella's overhead
Waiting for their shower
Under a tangerine sky
With abstract smiles..
*
Ya, we've just been given
Another day~
Old things are passd away;
Behold, all things are
Become new"~
