Christmas With Great Grandma

Thanks to Aileni..For Monochrome Weekly

My niece's little girl Kealani..who I posted of last week- (a little older now).. -Her Great Grandma Francis here is in her early 90's -

(Leonard Cohen, The Bells)

The birds they sang at break of day
Start again, I heard them say
Nor dwell on what has passed away
Or what is yet to be.

The wars they will be fought again
The holy dove be caught again
Bought and sold and bought again
Until we set them free.

Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
The light behind to see.

Add up the parts, not yours the sum
Strike up the march, there is no drum
Every heart to love must come
Like a refugee

I am stopping in to wish you the Merriest of Christmases.
And also to add, how pleasurable it is to read your words...which flow so gently, from the heart.

Hi Regina Marie; How are you? I have not been blogging for a few weeks, otherwise busy. I had to go way back to see your beautiful posts. The latest shot with great grandma is so beautiful in black and white. Always lovely poetry. The lit up palm tree is enchanting, wish I could put some lights up on mine! Anyway it is nice to see yours.
I wish you a very happy Christmas. T.

This image evokes childhood memories and is reminiscent of photographs from the 1940s and 50s.

What a special moment to capture, how lucky she is to have a great-grandma to celebrate with.

The bells should ring for Love, for respect, for Peace... And so much we are waiting for the bells in this deep silence of the world! That is a lovely picture and a wonderful song. Merry Christmas to you.

That great grandma is astounding for in her 90s. Would that I age that well.

...So elegant the Lady in white....your little niece Kealany is incredibly sweet...!
Very touching...the hands of the Lady in white which embrasses the waist of the little girl, so lovely!

(I hope very much your stormy weather is over and things are calm now and nobody got hurt!)

...((snow is melting this morning and my bouganvillaes look a little shocked...but they will survive....!)

Have a sunny and happy sunday!
ciao elvira

Leonard Cohen is no mean poet, and his words fitted the photo very well.
