Carousel

(Andy Warhol post below)

There were times spent
When you waited
Just to jump aboard
That merry-go-round-
Of all that you labored
To re-create
In the course of a day

In and out of department stores
Through all the traffic
You can smell it
Memories wafting up
Strangers, profiles-
You brush past
Lobster's looking through the glass

It’s that familiar song
You’ve heard it in the market
Like a symphony
When it could get you
Past this wall
Events,
You'd could once recount
With ease..are nearly a shadow

Your further up stream
Still you step aboard
Cool wind blows
Against your cheeks
Its a lighter load now
An memories,
Like a carousel
Spin
Of all the times you labored
To re-create
In the course of a day
But it's OK...

Maybe it was timing but I read the following excerpt from a devotional which kind of spoke to me after I wrote that poem- It may to you as well?
"Faith looks back and says,
"Christ died for me."
Above and cries,
"He lives for me";
Forward and whispers
"He comes for me"
We are not traveling by schedule but by faith"
(Traveling Toward Sunrise)- Cowman

hey, just noticed all the kitty pictures down here - so sweet! interesting this poem in light of the comment you left at my place asking how my Christmas went - it was/is like that poem i've been on a merry-go-round of memories because this year was different (empty-nest) having to share my family - i was kind of blue - the quote at the end was nice - i need to focus more on Him and look forward to the new which will come with the change in the present - hope your Christmas was blessed! oh, i was sorry to hear that you had so many storms - using the generator and all - hope it's better now PEACE!

Hey Yvette..sorry about that. Sometimes this time of year can be awfully sad for many for lots of reasons..just like you mentioned. Glad you liked this.
We have the usual drama but can take comfort in the deeper meaning..laying hold of faith in the reality of behind the season, huh.
Ya, the storms are over thankfully and its been nice a sunny. Good to hear from you though- as always-
