Like Some Fable In The Labyrinth

As a fragile bird
Fallen
Only to be set back
Gently into the Labyrinth

Darting,
As a foot came down
Unsure, I swerved
Corralled
Within some kind of moat

Alone, to contemplate
Where they filled my head
&
Hoped I'd float
But I still found
A way around it

Well time,
&
Butterflies I’d grasped
We drifted
Like fugitives
Where I knocked on doors
&
Got kicked out
Of playhouse floors

Yet as I walked along
I spied
Some playful fronds
Swaying-
Across a neighbors wall
No taller than I
Resembling a broom
&
I would of sworn..
They were Reeds
That graced the Nile..
I’d walked along

It was then
I flew off to Kansas
Stayed too long
Like in
Some kind of fable..
Then came home late
To set the table-
