Batman Never Rode A Camel

Now you maybe younger
&
You maybe older
But this was a show
On the tube back yunder-
So, can you recall what you were doing back when..
Some of the first Batman episodes came out?
I can remember sitting close to the set..only being able to listen, as our television had been given to us and the picture tube was burned-out..
Ya, picture tubes!

Oh, need I mention it was just black and white,
though color was soon to follow!
I could of embedded an early show- but found this commercial airing around the same time- a real hoot!
I'd love to hear what you think?
(you can just mute my jungle sounds on the right column)

Bush Blanket Bingo

Can you believe it?
I bought this package the other day just for the picture..can you tell?
I think puddy did a little too much partying then decided to hit the brush and not the beachside !
Well, I'm not sure how this Java Finch escaped (a little roughed up)? My husband brought him to me,
so I kept him by my side until I felt he was rested enough to return to the wild!
Imagine..these Gecko's weren't even able to tempt her!

But there was still another party going on...

~Streamers went up early~

The guys on the top floor looked down in disgust..
It had been a flash back to an earlier time,
when members of their own patch had too much to drink!
Ya..a few of these are from the archives..(sorry)
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend~

Lake On The Summit

(My husband took this first one through his cell phone). I was the only one with a regular camera on this trip..I think?

And what's this?
Why our dog's snoot marks on the glass
(during those pit stops when she wasn't allowed out)!

is the black- (half shepherd half chow)

Tiny Lake Waiau on Hawaii's Big Island is one of the highest elevated lakes on the planet. Located at 13,020 feet above sea level, near the summit of Mauna Kea volcano (13,796 feet), Lake Waiau lies in the crater of Pu'u Waiau cinder cone in the Mauna Kea Forest Reserve (more here)

So you can get an idea of the distance Mauna loa above
Lake Waiau below- the namesake of the cinder cone (swirling water of a current)

Briefly..
"Hawaiian mythology associates four goddesses, described as "maidens with white mantles", with the snow covered mountains of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.
While the lake is only 10 to, at the deepest, maybe 15 to 20 feet deep, it was known as The Bottemless Lake and was thought to be one of several entrances to the Underworld on the Big Island".

Hmm, tastes pretty good..wonder what this big puddle tastes like?

Whoops!
Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;

The Sound Of Silence

Did you say something?

Did you?

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
(Simon & Garfunkel)
Silence..
If we listen
We might hear it
Speaking
*
Mauna Loa-  (long mountain)

We took a drive up to Mauna Kea to play in the snow on Sunday Then we hiked maybe a quarter
of a mile to Lake Waiau (why-ow)
which means swirling water of a current
(coming up next)
The actual hike is at 13,020 feet above sea level and above 40% of the Earth's atmosphere. Ya, I did some huffing and puffing! I was determined thought~

For We Wrestle Not..

Legends, Myths and then some~

What said her Priesthood?
“Woe to this island if ever a woman should handle or gather the berries of Peelè
Accursed were she!
And woe to this island if ever a woman should climb to the dwelling of Peelè the Goddess!

For Native Hawaiians, Kīlauea is considered the "body" of Pele, the volcano goddess of ancient Hawaiian legend. Several lava formations are named after her, including Pele's tears (small droplets of lava that cool in the air and retain their teardrop shapes) and Pele's hair ..

In Hawaiian mythology, Kīlauea is where most of the conflict between Pele and the rain god Kamapuaʻa took place. Halemaʻumaʻu, "House of the ʻamaʻumaʻu fern", derives its name from the final struggle between the two gods: since it was the favorite residence of Pele, Kamapuaʻa, hard-pressed by Pele's ability to make lava spout from the ground at will,
covered it with the fronds of the fern.
Choking from the smoke which could not escape anymore, Pele emerged.

'If you drown me with water, you will still not have me as a woman,' she laughed.
'If you burn me with fire, your own barrenness will starve you,' he retorted.
In the deadlock of their destiny, Pele yielded..
(You can read the whole story here)

(Emissions at their worst here)!

The rusty singed appearance of the young fronds of the ʻamaʻumaʻu was said to be a product of the legendary struggle between Kamapua'a and Pele

More important than myth..here is another story-that of the high chiefess Kapiolani (Daughter of Keawe-mau-hili, also high chief of the district of Hilo (side of the island I reside) and her conflict with Pele, the goddess of Kilauea, in December of 1824.
"descending several hundred feet, and there joined in a prayer to Jehovah. She also ate the berries consecrated to Pele, and threw stones into the volcano.
It was now evening, and a hut was built to shelter her until the next day came, when she could have the opportunity of descending into the crater..

(previous post)
(Ohelo Berries growing on the slopes)

Eph. 6:12
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places".

One from the Sunrise
Dawned on His people and slowly before him
Vanished shadow-like
Gods and Goddesses,
None but the terrible Peelè remaining as Kapiolani
Ascended her mountain..
..
“I dare her, let Peelè avenge herself!”
Into the flame-billows dashed the berries, and drove the demon from Hawa-i-ee.

How Blogger Made Me Feel Yesterday!

Full Moon Musings
*
Today I'm passing another mile marker of posting. Well,  I decided to start something new this year as I realize folks don't necessarily have all the time in the world to read longish blogs. So I thought I'd make them shorter -FOR YOU- yes, set up a link where you could feel free to continue reading at your leisure on my other blog (cough). This was my plan (yes)terday until I had a ton of unexpected trouble with my blogger? My header photos decided to look as if they were all taken with a cell phone?! Maybe that isn't too important for folks who aren't in the baaad habit of changing them..but it was simply irritating!

This isn't long..watch what happens at the end (lol)..it sums up quite nicely the way I felt~

Ice Baths, MMS, Me, Pammy & Van

Yes, this is longer than normal..only I'd wanted to post something about MMS before. I felt it might be helpful and at least amusing..but you decide)

I was doing the Hula
All by myself
When I got into a compromising position,
of sorts..

Suddenly, I thought of Ms. Pamela Anderson..and realized we both have something in common!
You might wonder what that might be? See, she contracted Hep C for one- from a tattoo.
(I always fancied a cute little dragonfly by my ankle).
Where was I? Well  I got it through a blood transfusion years ago. So consequently, I try to beef up my immune system just like her too.

Anyhow,  today in fact, I got side tracked on one of those internet searches. Low and behold, I found that she and Van Morrison shared something in common too. They both enjoy getting pampered while hobnobbing around at the Bath Spa hotel..but I'll cut this short-

‘All Pamela wanted to eat was asparagus and mushroom Cup-a-Soups,’ and Van would ring down Italian from a local restaurant ..hotel would pick up! There you have it- he made wonderful music and we both enjoy Italian food!

Now, the thing I found interesting was how she indulged in a bizarre beauty routine – taking ice baths. Staff had to carry ice up to her room twice a day..said it stopped her aching and kept her feeling young. Well I left to do a little more research then found this interesting site (Get Fit Slowly)- worth a read.
So, I tried it..uh, minus the ice (cold water was shocking enough) but it honestly wasn't the first time..I remember doing this up in the mountains camping and it was exhilarating..not to mention energizing. Have you ever done that?
If you have some time check out this site. Well, besides taking internally..I soak in MMS (2) (here is a link where a fellow by the name of Dr. John Humiston explains what it is)(not a cure all)- just powerfully  disinfects..ridding your body of all the bacteria and toxins that can run your immune system down. (Jim Humble-his story) is the man who developed it. Anyway, I would never post something like this if I personally hadn't tried, or didn't work for me. I've kept a  record in fact since I began, and watched in amazement how many different things cleared up, which basically caused me to become sick then run down..various infections- bladder, yeast etc.. but I hope to become a little more disciplined in order to assist in it's function?  I still feel rotten (ah ha ha), mostly my head/energy level. But I admit, I could do better as I said.
On a side note, I found out my cat loves the smell..so much so she would keep circling the bath tub. One night the lights were out before I drained it and I heard her fall in! She managed to climb out before I got her. We're on water catchment so we put it inside our tank.
In closing..I've soaked in the MMS then did a shorter cold bath..it was extremely exhilarating~

Bird Brained Discussions

Pros & Cons of freedom..

You mean your trying to say I've been that bad to you as a mother?
Let's just say you haven't always been there for me..

Look, I'm not hungry!

Alright I admit, I could of done better..I'm sorry then!
 (Sniff sniff)..
You mean it?
Of course, come off it..
I even bought you your own cage so your siblings would stop picking on you!
Hmm,
Well maybe I'm not so sure
I want to go back and live in a cage again..

You think she has a point?
(My Myna got got out this morning)..though I have a good idea of what might of spooked him..hmm?

Let's be perfectly clear- the war on free speech is spiritual!
