Faith And Resistance

Keep smiling
(My clowns to the left with a friend)

When (yes when) I pop in one of my exercise DVD's, this is what the instructor hopes we'll keep in mind-
"Exhale on the exertion"
"It's probably where you'll lose your form, but we're going to correct that"
"Just think how your going to look!"
"However, if your not feeling the burn..."
"These are phenomenal compound exercises"

Heb.4:2, 3- "For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not ~Combine it with faith~.

Now we who have believed ~Enter that rest~
And yet ~his work has been finished~ since the creation of the world." vs 14
When John the baptist saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducee's (religious leaders) coming to where he was baptizing..he told them in Mt. 3: 7-10 “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?
~Produce fruit in keeping with repentance~ do not think you can say to yourselves, ~‘We have~ Abraham as our father.’

Do you think faith is often misunderstood? Have you ever noticed how easy it is to rely on one's strengths? (what we have- in the natural). Oh, and incidentally, there is one more suggestion in that DVD.. and that is to make sure an go slow -so as not  to use gravity? (They even sell resistance bands)
Sure, we use our gifts or talents all the time, but still I'm reminded of the following verses here in 1 Co 2:5 & 2 Co 12:9) - just trying to narrow this down?

I'll wrap it up here with  1 Pt. 2: 4-8, “See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.” you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house. Remember, it's also called a rock of offense that many often trip over (not in good way)-

Passionately Excessive

"Keep your faith in all beautiful things;
in the sun when it is hidden,
in the Spring when it is gone."
~Roy R. Gilsoni

"O Day after day we can't help growing older.
Year after year spring can't help seeming younger.
Come let's enjoy our winecup today,
Nor pity the flowers fallen."

E -Smoke Break

"The crow maybe caged, but his thoughts are in the cornfield"
Belizean~ (on temptation)

I took a quick run to town for errands the other day but found my plans would soon become altered. After reaching the top of the road, I was ready to turn into the highway when a woman in her mid forties appeared almost out of nowhere..momentarily we locked eyes. I had no recall at that point of the line in the song by CCR "she was smilin there, yellow in her hair"? Her thumb to the side, I flung the door open and she jumped in. Tucking herself inside, it never took long before her story emerged. Her boyfriend just kicked her out- having no particular place to go-
Heartbreaking, I listened as tears began to flow -softening her hard exterior. I offered to buy her a coffee, but she motioned with a sheepish smile toward a bottle of booze lying concealed beside her hat and the seat. She replied, that it was what she was drinking..just couldn't seem to find the cap? Slightly uncomfortable, I shifted in my seat.. finally asking- you got a lid for that? Just then it spilled over right into her hat! Strange, somehow we were both relieved?
Anyhow, I decided I was the one who needed an espresso! So upon returning to the parking lot, I could see her foot sticking out of the car door while she powdered her nose in the mirror. Glancing over to me, she gestured while a cloud of smoke rose above her head- that if I minded she'd promptly put it out. Smoke never bothered me too much..(I gestured back) thinking -just an open container?
I suppose I could relate a little, and so we did. Thankfully at that point, it became obvious that God was the only one we could truly depend on for direction.
In conclusion, I consider it both positve and somewhat bleak, as I feel it takes a willingness on our part to submit? I dropped her off on the side of the road where she wished- still- both glad to have had the opportunity for this exchange.
Life isn't a one way street~

I noticed this later on-line and clicked for a better description. I had no idea they actually had nicotine inside? I thought it might be some kind of virtual cigg's? (lol). I guess I'd been thinking a lot about addiction and dependency..and just how far we'll often go?

My husband quipped..looks just like a catalytic converter

Sitting On The Steps

I sat out on the porch and looked up into the sky..
The clouds looked like small cotton balls
that just grew bigger and looked so incredible.
It became humid like it is now.. when a storm began to brew.
Come evening, lightening appeared with thunder and rain~

"We went through fire and through water:
but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place"
(Ps. 66:12).
Paradoxical though it be, only that man is at rest who attains it through conflict. This peace, born of conflict, is not like the deadly hush preceding the tempest, but the serene and pure-aired quiet that follows it.
Taken from C. Cowman devotionals- (Stream's in the Desert)

Kaloli Point

Spungy pine needles
Sink beneath my feet
Round beach leaves
 &
 Wooden cones
Peer up beside fallen stars

Trees don't leave their post
They just gather with the leaves
Who scatter here
Along this coast
They lie above the pounding surf
Where turtles rise
To catch their breath
From mossy shells
Ocean swells~

This was an unexpected drive..so I took this series with my cell because I forgot my camera..I guess it worked?

Most Handsome Fellow In The Village?

Feeling Peckish (they said that)

You may of seen this-
He is head of the world's biggest family in (Baktwang village in the Indian state of Mizoram) - and says he is 'blessed' to have his 39 wives. Ziona Chana also has 94 children, 14-daughters-in-law and 33 grandchildren. They live in a 100-room, four storey house !

One evening meal can see them pluck 30 chickens, peel 132lb of potatoes and boil up to 220lb of rice!

I couldn't resist this one..
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this arrangement? So please- fire away!

They Lived Upon The- I Shall

"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness;
I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness"
Psalm 17:15

(A slightly neglected 18' x 4' bed)

Just wanted to share
my garden of Walking Blue Iris's
with some thoughts I'd penned-
and those compiled below

Really, it's quite a sight to see first thing-
new buds graced with softly fallen rain-
*
Gazing up
Into
A new day's glistening rays
Droplets tumble through
Translucent pores
In depths, I stare
In what appears
For a moment
I consider the future

Falling rain
Seemed to mirror the present
`:`
``
Will we shape it
In time
Before it reaches?

 Ever moving
Past the present
To join the future~

"As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness;
I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness"
Psalm 17:15
The Psalmist looks beyond the grave into another world; he overlooks the narrow death-bed where he has to sleep, and he says, "when I awake"

"I shall be honoured when my head shall sleep in the grave."
and they lived upon the
 "shall "
and fed upon the
future.
"I shall be satisfied"

~A Fishy Intermission~

When Fish Became My Dish-

Ahi is one of my favorites..baked here or lightly grilled..Either way, I don't prefer mine well done but you may be different. Raw fish is really popular here on the Islands (salmon can be eaten raw as well), but I realize most folks might not think of it the same way as say, Ahi?

Anyway If you like Cilantro, this variety (Eryngium foetidum ..scroll down too) grows year round. Healthy, hardy & heady (lol) and no difference as far as flavor. I trim the edges with scissors first then blend it up after I chop it.

Works well with Salmon below-
How often do you eat fish..Anyone eat it raw? Don't you think it's nice of me to post a recipe I've tried? Do you cook a little or a lot? Would you order it? My mother rarely cooked fish..and it seemed the only one she enjoyed was Salmon out of a can. Somtimes she over-cooked a bit- like eggs. Might be something to do with having 7 kids? But my rule of thumb is to cook my fish the way I would my omelet-

 1/4 cup Tamari
1 Tbsp Sesame oil
2 Tbsp Fresh lime juice
All It's Zest~
1 Tbsp Balsamic vinegar
2-3 Tb raw sugar

Fresh ginger grated
Cilantro
Green onion
Hot Pepper..your favorite - (I use Serrano)

Dice all the above, then pour it over to marinade for the night.. or at least a few hours before (if not using an open grill- bake it at 350 for maybe 6 or 7 minutes on each side..sometimes transferring to a pan to grill for the remainder.
Raw: I used to enjoy wasabi but now I prefer to chop onion, chili pepper, fresh squeezed lime -the zest is soo good!! tamari and a little drop of sesame oil~

Let's be perfectly clear- the war on free speech is spiritual!
